GRANTS, N.M. — Downtown Grants is getting a fresh new look as part of a continuing effort to beautify public spaces and strengthen community pride thanks to labor and hard work by Grants MainStreet Project Inc.
New benches, picnic tables, and trash receptacles have been installed at Fire & Ice Park, City Hall Park, and Riverwalk Park through the city’s partnership with the Grants MainStreet Project.
Funded in part by awards from AARP and the New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Trails+ Grant, the upgrades are the latest in a series of visible improvements happening throughout the MainStreet District. The newly painted features and refurbished areas stand out as symbols of a community investing in itself.
“We’re thrilled to see these enhancements come together,” Grants Main-Street shared in a recent update. “The project will provide beautiful spaces for relaxation and community gatherings—just in time to close out the year on a high note.”
Over the past several months, volunteers and city crews have worked side by side on park maintenance, repainting projects, and other beautification initiatives downtown. The results are becoming clear to anyone walking through the area: cleaner parks, vibrant new paintwork, and improved accessibility for families and visitors.
As the city continues its revitalization efforts, residents can expect more community-centered improvements in the months ahead.
