GRANTS, N.M. — A domestic incident in Grants, New Mexico, has led to the arrest of 25-yearold Brandon Tennant, according to official police reports from the Grants Police Department.

The incident took place on August 8, and began when officers were dispatched to 1425 Ravenwood Road after receiving a report that a female had been dragged into a trailer from the street. The call prompted an immediate response from the Grants Police Department due to the severity of the situation.

Upon arrival, the officers were met with uncertainty about the exact location of the incident. A neighbor initially provided the wrong address to Cibola Regional Dispatch, but was able to point law enforcement to a brown single-wide trailer on Ravenwood Road, which was two residences down from officers’ location.

The officers proceeded to investigate the trailer, as well as a nearby recreational vehicle parked in the yard. Despite initial silence and no response to verbal commands, concern for the safety of the alleged victim prompted officers to open the door to the RV.

Inside, they found a male, later identified as Brandon Tennant, and a female hiding behind him. The officers commanded Tennant to exit the trailer. Tennant initially refused, expressing fear for his life.

The situation escalated, leading one of the officers to enter the trailer and detain Tennant personally. During the process, a black-colored rifle was found on the floor near the entrance, adding to the urgency and complexity of the situation.

Officers spoke with the alleged victim, who was discovered with injuries and bruises to her face, neck, legs, and feet, with some areas actively bleeding. In her statement to, the victim alleged she was attacked by Tennant and managed to flee until he caught the back of her shirt and dragged her back into the RV.

In their report, officers noted a trail of dangerous items, such as sheet metal and wood, that, according to GPD, matched the victim’s injuries and matched her account of being dragged back into the trailer.

Officers were able to talk Tennant into letting them in the RV. Inside, officers detained Tennant without incident. After arresting him, officers did a warrant search on his name and found that Tennant had an outstanding state-wide warrant for his arrest. After being taken into custody, he was transported to Cibola County Correctional Center in Milan for incarceration.

Tennant was charged with Kidnapping (Second Degree)(Intent to Commit Sex Offense), False Imprisonment, Battery (Household Member). He was seen in the Cibola County Magistrate Court on August 9 and was given a $10,000 bond, Judge Tony Mace ordered that Tennant is not allowed to have contact with the victim.

Grants Police Department will continue to investigate this incident. Further details are expected to be released as the inquiry progresses.
