On September 14, around 9:15 p.m., Grants Police officers were dispatched to Austin Avenue after receiving a call regarding a male individual obstructing a female resident and her children from leaving their home.
Upon arrival, the caller told police that her exboyfriend, identified as Eric Wilson, had arrived at her home and started an argument and fight about visiting rights with their children. Upon checking his records, police discovered that Wilson had an outstanding extraditable bench warrant issued by Montezuma Combined Courts in Cortez, Colorado, relating to a larceny charge filed by the Cortez Police Department.
Wilson was subsequently transported to Core Civic Detention Center in Milan, New Mexico, where he was booked on charges of obstructing police. As of press time the courts were still in processing the case.
