New Transportation Studies along I-40 in Village of Milan

Body

There are two new transportation studies along I-40 at Horizon Boulevard and Sawmill Road in the Village of Milan. The study at Horizon Boulevard is evaluating the existing interchange, while the study at Sawmill Road is evaluating the potential need for a new interchange.

These studies are both in the early stages to identify the Purpose and Need, or reason for the eventual projects, and will then move into developing alternatives, or options. At this time, the studies are not funded for the final design, and there is no funding or plans for construction.

The study teams hosted a public meeting on Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Village Hall.

At the meeting, the teams introduced the two studies, reviewed the process and schedule, reviewed existing conditions, and solicited public input. To review the materials shared at the public meeting, please visit the village's website at: https://www.villageofmilan.com/

Public input is valued and part of the study process. The public comment period for these studies is open now through Dec. 13, 2024. Comments were received at the public meeting, and you can also leave a comment in the following ways: Regardless of the communication channel used, every comment received will be handled with equal importance. All comments received will be recorded by the study teams and considered as the studies progress.

Another public meeting will be held in 2025 to provide an update on the studies and present the alternatives. To be emailed when the meeting is scheduled, please email the study teams at info@i40villageofmilan.com or call 505-209-3999.
