Veterans and service members in Cibola County looking for assistance with their benefits and health care options have an opportunity to connect with experts at the upcoming Veterans Resource Pop-Up Event in Truth or Consequences on March 5.
Hosted by the Las Cruces Mobile Vet Center, the event will provide valuable information on VA health care eligibility, disability compensation, home loans, housing assistance, and suicide prevention efforts. Representatives from the New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Service will also be available to assist with VA benefit claims.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the New Mexico State Veterans’ Home (992 S. Broadway St., Truth or Consequences). While T or C is a drive from Cibola County, this event could be a great resource for local veterans and their families looking for direct assistance with benefits and services.
Vet Centers provide free, confidential counseling services for eligible veterans and active-duty service members, including support for Post-Traumatic Stress, Military Sexual Trauma, grief, and readjustment after service. Staffed by professionals— many of whom are veterans themselves—the centers are dedicated to helping service members transition smoothly into civilian life.
