“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.

Jesus of Nazareth preached to the Jews and Gentiles which at the time was unheard of as the Pharisees only taught the Jews. While bringing hope to all caused quite an uproar amongst His own people for giving the gentiles hope and for proclaiming that He was the Messiah. Jesus admitted to being the Messiah, the Son of God, and King of the Jews. Jesus’ twelfth disciple, Judas Iscariot, betrayed him for 30 pieces of silver. The Jewish religious leaders had Jesus captured and sent him to Pontius Pilate on Thursday. Pilate sent Jesus to Herod, then Herod sent him back. Pilate questioned Jesus “Are You the king of the Jews?” Jesus replied, “It is as you say.” Pilate had an idea to bring Barabbas, a notorious prisoner, who was to be crucified. When everyone gathered Pilate asked “Whom do you want me to release to you. Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?” Pilate’s wife came to him and said, “Have nothing to do with the death of the just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.” But Pilate was persuaded by the religious leaders and he asked “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” The crowd shouted “Barabbas!” Pilate said unto them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?”

And they shouted, “Let Him be crucified!”

“Why, what evil has He done?”

No one had an answer, so they shouted, “Let Him be crucified!”

Pilate knew he couldn’t prevail, so he washed his hands saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person.”

Pilate sentenced Jesus to the highest form of punishment, which was being crucified. Friday he was beaten, forced to carry His cross, then nailed to it. When He died the veil to the temple was torn in two from top to bottom, the earth quaked, rocks split, graves were opened; many bodies of the saints who died were raised. A centurion declared “Truly this was the Son of God!”

Priests and Pharisees gathered with Pilate saying “Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise.’ Therefore, command that the tomb be secured and guarded until the third day, or the disciples will come by night to steal Him away and claim ‘He has risen from the dead.’” Guards were set at Jesus’ tomb. On the third day there was a great earthquake, the stone rolled away, and an angel of the Lord appeared. The guards shook in fear and collapsed like dead men.

Mary Magdalene and Jesus’ Mother Mary went to Jesus’ tomb. An Angel sat on the stone, which was rolled away. The Angel told them, Fear not, for He is risen. Go and tell the disciples.

They excitedly went to inform the disciples. On their way they met Jesus, where he told them. Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they should go into Galilee, and there they shall see me.

Mary Magdalene and Mary went to tell the disciples. Then, the eleven disciples went away to Galilee, onto the mountain Jesus instructed them. When they saw him, some worshipped, but some doubted. Jesus said unto them, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
