Re: Who Could’ve Imagined This?

Dear editor, Saw letter to the editor in the Cibola Citizen, Wednesday, August 5, 2026, by Mr. B Johnson that said “If we can’t find the critical intelligence, moral fortitude, and selfless courage to vote these parasites out of office in November and beyond then we don’t deserve Democracy. My parents and those of their generation of Americans fought Hitler and Mussolini. For what? A draft-dodging, bloated orange marshmallow who’s hell-bent on destroying the world---for a profit.”

I am assuming Johnson was referring to the current President. I would ask Johnson if we could be better off living in Iran, Russia, North Korea, Cuba, or even China? My dad and his brother both went to Korea. I got lucky, at 17 my parents signed me into the service in 1977 missing Vietnam by about three years.

Dad moved us to Grants around 1960 after Korea. I came home after 6 years in the USAF then same branch dad was in1983 and served as a local police officer for 32+ years in the community. Dad did 35+ years underground for UNC and is still with us.

Mr. Johnson seems to believe “We serve corporations. Period. They’ll tell you what you do and don’t need, and you’ll like it. Or else. Meanwhile, King Citrus is lining his pockets, burnishing his ego with monuments and starting wars to avoid facing consequences for his crimes (remember Epstein, tax crimes, etc.?)” Maybe Johnson believes the Progressive Democrats of America who want the use same structure of the communist, or dictatorship countries mentioned above and should be allowed to get into office to make everything free?

“We should be thankful for the current President and his administration in Washington fixing things the Democrats screwed up so badly the last four years.” Signed, Mr. Harry Hall
