Thank You, Cibola

Body

We have entered the busy holiday season, and before the cooking and baking totally takes over our kitchens, our staff wanted to take a moment and reflect on the many blessings we share in this vibrant and beautiful community.

Cibola County is more than just a place—it’s home. It’s where we’ve built our lives, supported each other, and created memories and families.

Our staff would like to give a special thank you to our readers, we work hard to do our duty to you, and we greatly appreciate you for supporting us.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the hardworking leaders— both elected and unelected, government and nonprofit—who make this community thrive. Your dedication to Cibola County does not go unnoticed. From organizing events to addressing the needs of our residents, your efforts keep this community strong, resilient, and full of life.

To our business leaders, thank you for lifting the community. Your advertising in our paper and supplemental publications like the Cibola Relocation Guide, Cibola Sports Guide, and the our special Santa Letters section is what keeps us running, and your sponsorship of nonprofit events and local sporting teams keeps our community strong.

Each of us has our own reasons to be thankful, and they often reflect the unique charm of our community: Our saleswoman Pamela is thankful for her car being fixed, allowing her to visit the mountains whenever she wants. For her, coming home to Cibola County after vacation always brings a sense of comfort. “I don’t sleep as well or eat as comfortably away from home,” she says. “It’s always nice to come back.”

Our saleswoman Mikayla finds gratitude in Grants, her hometown, where she has had the privilege of meeting and working with incredible people. She’s also thankful for the Zuni Mountains, which provide a peaceful escape when life gets overwhelming.

Our Chief of Staff Sylvia is thankful for her “wonderful husband, kids, and beautiful grandchildren.” She cherishes each day she gets to live in Cibola County, grateful for her job, her home, and her family.

Diego reflects on the natural beauty of New Mexico, calling it “the most beautiful state in the union.” He’s especially grateful for the unique landscapes of Cibola County and the comforting presence of Saint Vivian’s Church in Milan, with its striking lavastone architecture.

As we count our blessings, let us also recognize the strength of our community and the kindness of our neighbors. Together, we make Cibola County a truly special place.

Thank you for your continued readership and support. From all of us, we wish you a holiday season filled with joy, gratitude, and the warmth of home.
