The Grants/Cibola County Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the Independence Day Parade. We are inviting all Cibola County residents to join in the festivities. This beloved community event, taking place on July 4th, promises to be a day filled with joy, entertainment, and a celebration of the spirit that defines our community. The theme for this year’s parade is “A Ride Through the Past.” Parade Grand Marshal will be the Cibola Historical Society.

As the Executive Director of the Chamber, I extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you for this special occasion. The parade will kick off its journey through our streets at 9:00 a.m., with participants able to pick up their entry numbers and join the lineup starting at 7:30 a.m. We encourage everyone to come together and showcase the creativity, diversity, and unity that make our community truly exceptional.

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, it is essential that we adhere to the specified rules and regulations during the parade. The throwing of candy and other items is strongly discouraged for safety reasons. Only registered entries will be permitted to participate, and any unsafe behavior will not be tolerated. Parade officials have been entrusted with the authority to intervene if necessary. Float drivers must possess a valid driver's license, maintain a clear field of vision, and refrain from smoking on or near the float. Furthermore, the use of water spraying devices and jumping on or off moving vehicles is strictly prohibited. The consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages or illegal substances is not allowed during the parade. Lastly, participants are encouraged to keep moving along the parade route. By adhering to these guidelines, we can contribute to a safe and enjoyable event that upholds the spirit of our community.

Following the parade, festivities will continue at Fire and Ice Park, where live performances will take place. At 11 a.m., the CupCake Cuties Dance Group will take the stage, followed by the Full Force Dance Team, both representing the incredible talent within our community. The park will then come alive with sensational melodies from the band “Time Well Wasted” at 12 p.m., providing a soundtrack for an afternoon of fun and revelry.

But the excitement doesn't end there! At 2 p.m., we invite everyone to join us at the Grants Rodeo Grounds for a captivating display of athleticism by our local cowboys and cowgirls. The legendary Bob Weir Rodeo Act and Clown will be returning to Grants, adding an extra touch of entertainment to the event. The rodeo will kick off with the adorable six-and-under Mutton Busters competition, where the winner will receive a coveted buckle. This thrilling experience is not to be missed!

As the day progresses, attendees are encouraged to head over to Coyote Del Malpais Golf Course, where parking will be available from 5 p.m. Later in the evening, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Time Well Wasted band will once again grace the stage, great music continues well into the night. As dusk falls upon us, the City of Grants will light up the sky with a breathtaking fireworks display, providing a fitting finale to a day filled with joy and celebration.

The Grants/Cibola County Chamber of Commerce extends its sincere gratitude to all the participants, volunteers, and sponsors who have made this event possible. Their dedication and support are truly invaluable and make our community shine bright.
