Chinle, Arizona - On May 3, 2024, a spirit of achievement and prosperity filled the air as students were awarded this year's BHP scholarship at the Navajo Technical University Chinle site. Arlena Benallie, the esteemed Navajo Tech Chinle Site Director, graciously welcomed all attendees to the event, providing a warm introduction to the campus and emphasizing its remarkable features. She proudly highlighted the campus's growth and development, expressing gratitude to BHP for their invaluable support in providing scholarships, enhancing connectivity with the local community through tablet donations, and recognizing Navajo Technical University as an exemplary institution for higher education.

During the event, Arlene Benallie reverently shared a traditional Navajo song, initially crafted by a Navajo medicine man, symbolizing the mission and journey of Navajo Technical University. This beautiful composition was the work of Raymond Jim Redhouse, a dedicated faculty member at the Teec Nos Pos site, where he has imparted knowledge of Dine Studies for numerous years.

Garrett Holm took a moment to acknowledge the students and their remarkable accomplishments, expressing gratitude towards Arlene, the faculty, and the staff at Navajo Technical University for orchestrating such a noteworthy event and celebrating the extraordinary achievements of the students. NTU student Andrea Begay, with genuine enthusiasm, encouraged her peers to persevere and reminded them that attaining success is a challenging yet rewarding endeavor, especially when striving to make a meaningful impact on the Navajo Nation. She lovingly reassured her fellow students that no question is insignificant, urging them to seek knowledge without hesitation.

In a heartfelt declaration, Arlene Benallie emphasized, 'The scholarship allows students to pursue their education and demonstrate their wholeness, realizing their aspirations. At Navajo Tech, we are committed to supporting others in achieving their dreams, and we are deeply grateful to our generous donors, particularly BHP, for their invaluable contributions. Together, we strive to make dreams a reality.'
