LAGUNA PUEBLO – Athletes from the Pueblo of Laguna made their mark on the New Mexico Senior Olympics, coming back home with 12 gold medals around their necks.
First Place
Bringing home the gold, there were seven athletes from Laguna that secured 13 collective gold medals.
Delight Martinez secured two gold medals, one for Washers and the other for the 800-meter estimated run.
Fern Reyna brought home one gold medal for the 5k race.
Gilbert Concho brought home two gold medals, one for the 5k race and the other for the Long Board competition.
Emry Martin brought home one gold medal for the Shuffle Board competition.
Ralph Paytiamo brought home three gold medals, one for his Soccer Kick, one for the 800meter run, and one for Softball Distance.
Wayne Salvador brought home one gold medal for the 400-meter run.
Lilly Salvador brought home three gold medals, one for the 200meter race, one for the 400-meter race, and one for the 800-meter race.
Second Place
Securing second place, eight athletes earned a silver medal from the team.
Darren Concho won second place for his Soccer Kick.
Darryl Concho secured his silver medal in Corn Hole.
Emma Liptow won a silver medal with her Soccer Kick.
Fern Reyna took the silver medal in the 400meter race.
Gilbert Concho secured second place with his Power Walk.
Emery Martin won two silver medals, one for her Soccer Kick and the other for her Frisbee Distance.
Ralph Paytimo secured second place for his Frisbee Distance.
Lilly Salvado secured three silver medals. One for Corn Hole, the other for Washers, and the last for her Softball Distance.
Jennette Salvador secured a silver medal in the 50-meter run.
Third Place
Eight athletes secured third place bronze medals.
Darren Concho secured his bronze medal in two sports: 8-Ball Pool and Soccer Kick.
Emma Liptow earned her third place spot in the Discus throw.
Fern Reyna won two bronze medals: One in Corn Hole and the other in Power Walk Wayne Salvador earned two bronze medals: The first in Softball Distance and the other in Frisbee Accuracy.
Lilly Salvado brought home a third-place medal for the 100-meter run.
Raymond Concho earned his third-place medal in 8-Ball Pool.
Lloyd Felipe earned his bronze medal for the Five-K run.
Jennette Salvador earned her bronze for the Five-K run.
