NMSP Investigates Officer-Involved Shooting in Laguna Amid Rising Public Safety Concerns

LAGUNA, NM – At the end of July, Laguna Police Department was involved in a shooting, while no one was seriously injured, police did incarcerate 43-year-old Georgia Martinez Rubio after she allegedly pulled a firearm on officers, leading to the incident.

Small Fire Near Ojo Redondo Extinguished

ZUNI MOUNTAINS, NM – A fire was burning in the Zuni Mountains just north of Ojo Redondo but was quickly put out.According to the state, the fire was discovered August 21 just after noon. As of August 22, at 12 a.m., the fire was an estimated two acres in size.

Missing Girl from San Rafael Found

SAN RAFAEL, NM – A 17-year-old girl has been found after disappearing back in the middle of August.Details are limited as the Cibola County Sheriff’s Office did not comment by press time, but the 17-year-old Grants High School student had been kicked out of her grandmother’s house on August 19.
