GRANTS, N.M. – On October 2, residents gathered for an hour-long coffee meeting with city managers and key community leaders. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss various projects and upcoming events impacting Grants and its surrounding area.
The Homestake Mining Company Superfund Site north of Milan, showing the NRC license boundary (red outline), nearby residential subdivisions (Pleasant Valley Estates, Murray Acres, Broadview Acres, Felice Acres, Valle Verde), land treatment areas (green hatch), parcel boundaries, and the approximate uranium (~0.16 mg/L, 2019) and selenium (~0.32 mg/L, 2019) plumes in the San Mateo alluvial aquifer.
