GRANTS, N.M. – A little over a month ago, in October, local rap artist Ivan Garcia was informed of his selection to perform at a showcase event in Atlanta, Georgia. The event was put together by an organization called Coast 2 Coast LIVE, which features up and coming artists from across the country. Garcia, whose artist name is Fs.Ati, performed at the showcase event in November, and now even bigger opportunities are up ahead for the young artist.

Garcia only had one song, one performance, and one chance to make an impression, and according to Garcia’s mother, Cynthia Delima, Garcia ended up placing third among the top five artists, chosen from a group of 30 artists. Furthermore, Garcia won a promotional package that will help advance his career, met and connected with many high-ups in the music industry, and secured a spot to perform in a show in Miami, Florida this upcoming summer.

Garcia said he prepared for the Atlanta performance by meeting up with a producer, now his road manager, in Los Angeles, California to record the perfect song for the event. That hard work certainly paid off, and Garcia described the experience by saying, “The first thing I can say about my Atlanta experiences [is] that it was amazing. I’ve never had more friendly interactions and more love and support like I had in Atlanta. It felt like I truly had the world for that one night. The venue was filled with more than 100 people and I interacted and connected with everyone, including big time producers and labels.”

With a successful performance in Atlanta now under his belt, Garcia’s next step is a show that he will perform at in Downtown L.A. with some of his artist friends from New York. Garcia said he is grateful for that upcoming L.A. show and the time he will spend recording leading up to the Miami show. Garcia said he will take this time to work hard, develop consistency in his music, grow his fanbase, and “find [his] sound.”

As for the future and what all of his past, present, and future successes mean to him, Garcia explained, “There are many big things I feel and know I’m gonna achieve, but I try to stay as calm and levelheaded as possible as a way to keep pushing forward. Even though I’m working with big people in the industry and doing shows, I still want the people to know I’m still just a kid from Grants, New Mexico. As for the promotional packages, it’s really nothing new. I’m thankful I won this certain value of promotion but it’s just one of the business sides of the music, it won’t mean anything if I’m not making good music consistently.”

That said, Garcia is excited to get to work and excited for all of his upcoming shows in L.A. and Miami. Finally, Garcia concluded, “I would like to add that this is just the beginning and I’m grateful for everyone’s support and the love I get every single day from fans to friends to family.”
