Sister Sara Marie Gomez is celebrating 60 years as an Ursuline Sister. A native of Gobernador, Sister Sara Marie served 36 years in New Mexico, including as a teacher at St. Joseph School, San Fidel (1977-83). She also taught at Sacred Heart School, Farmington, (1972-73) then as a religion teacher at the school from 1997-2002. She became a pastoral minister and director of religious education at St. Joseph Parish, Aztec, in 1990. She added director of religious education duties at Holy Trinity Parish in Flora Vista in 1999, and she served at both parishes until 2019, when she retired and moved to Maple Mount. She was the last Ursuline Sister to serve in New Mexico after 100 years of continuous service. Today, she lives at the Motherhouse and is a member of the Powerhouse of Prayer.

Sister Sheila Anne Smith is celebrating 60 years. She was raised in Farmington. Her ministry has included teaching, parish ministry, religious education and retreat work in Arizona and New Mexico, including St. Joseph School in San Fidel (1979-80), and St. Anthony School in Zuni (1980-82). She served as a tutor in Albuquerque for 20 years (1994-2014). She has also taught in schools in Kentucky and Nebraska. Today, she lives at the motherhouse in Maple Mount and crotchets filter socks for the Water With Blessings ministry.
