After your puppy eats or drinks, take them outside anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes later. Observe for signs that they need to go outside, and don’t hesitate to wait outside for a while if necessary. When they go potty outside, reward them with treats and praise. If they have an accident indoors, don’t punish them, but make sure they understand that you’re disappointed. Remember that it can take several months to a year for your puppy to be fully potty trained.
