Arresting an alleged sex offender

CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. – The Cibola County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25- year-old Alexander Barron this past weekend for allegedly engaging in sex with a minor. Barron is charged with two counts of criminal sexual penetration of a minor.

The alleged relationship between the minor and Barron began a few months ago. The minor allegedly began reaching out to Barron a few months ago. Barron was dismissive at first, according to Cibola County Sheriff Tony Mace.

The alleged relationship developed to the point where the minor and Barron agreed to meet after the minor’s grandmother was asleep. CCSO deputies are working to acquire a warrant to search the vehicle allegedly used to commit the act of child sexual penetration.

The alleged act was reported to police by the Grants/Cibola County School District, which owns the computer the minor used to contact the 25-year-old.

Barron was taken into custody and sent to the Cibola County Correctional Center, Milan, N.M., in preparation for an appearance before the Honorable Judge Larry Diaz in the Cibola County Magistrate Court. No other information was
