GRANTS, NM – Law enforcement officers from the Grants Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance incident in the City of Grants, New Mexico, on Friday, August 18, resulting in the arrest of Alfred Grine and Justin Coho.

Officers from Grants Police Department arrived at the scene following a dispatch from the Cibola Regional Communications Center calling police to a domestic dispute in progress on Adams Street. CRCC had informed officers that the male subject involved had left the location and was reportedly heading towards Grants High School.

Officers made contact with the alleged victim, who identified herself as the female involved in the altercation. The victim told officers she had been in a physical altercation with her boyfriend, Alfred Grine, at their residence, on Adams Street. According to the victim, Grine had become upset, allegedly due to jealousy, and the situation escalated into physical violence. She alleged that Grine pushed her, causing her to fall, and that he hit her after. She further alleged that Grine then grabbed her by both arms, leaving bruises, and proceeded to strangle her.

Officers documented their observation of visible bruising on Ross' arms. The victim mentioned that she managed to leave Grine's residence and sought refuge at a neighbor's house, located down the street, where she called 911 and spoke with CRCC. According to the report, Grine, accompanied by his friend Justin Coho, left the residence after the altercation. Law enforcement officers were alerted to this information.

A police report states that the search for the suspects led him to observe a red Dodge Ram pickup truck, driven by Coho, entering the vicinity of Adams Avenue. Officers, based on prior familiarity with Coho and his vehicle, positioned his police vehicle behind the truck and activated his emergency lights. Upon entering the residence associated with the truck's location, Sergeant Sylvester encountered Coho. A male, identified as the suspect involved in the domestic altercation, was found in the front passenger seat of the truck. Coho was subsequently instructed to exit the vehicle and comply with law enforcement.

Coho was questioned by Sergeant Sylvester and asked to undergo Standard Field Sobriety Tests to ascertain his sobriety. Coho refused the breath tests and was subsequently transported to the Grants Police Department. After the refusal of a breath sample, Coho was issued a Notice of Revocation and a citation for Driving While Revoked.

Coho was later transported to the Cibola County Correctional Center for incarceration.

The Grants Police Department confirmed that an investigation into the alleged domestic altercation is ongoing and that Alfred Grine has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
