ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Cibola National Forest and National Grasslands will be selling firewood permits in person only (no mail in) on the following ranger districts.
Mt Taylor Ranger District Firewood Permit Sales:
In Person Sales Only: Starting May 15 – Dec. 15, 2026 Sale Hours: Mon.-Fri.: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm Permit Sale Locations: Mt Taylor Ranger District Office at 1800 Lobo Canyon Rd., Grants, NM 87020 (505-287-8833) and Cibola NF & NGs Supervisor’s Office at 2113 Osuna Rd., NE Albuquerque, NM 87113 (505346-3900) Cutting Period: May 15 – Dec. 15, 2026 Permit Cost: o $2.00 per cord for District Wide Dead and Down permit. o $20.00 per cord for District Wide Oak permit. (Oak season ends on Oct. 15, 2026).

Mountainair Ranger District Firewood Permit Sales:
In Person Sales Only: Starting May 20 – until 300 District permits are sold.
Sale Hours: Mon.-Fri.: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm Permit Sale Location: Mountainair Ranger District Office at 40 Ranger Station Rd., Mountainair, NM 87036 (505-8472990) Cutting Period: May 20 – Dec. 15, 2026 Permit Cost: o $20 for 5 cords for District Wide Dead and Down permit. (No Dead Standing)
