In the early morning of February 19, Grants Police Department responded to a disturbance at a residential complex in Grants, New Mexico, leading to the arrest of two individuals under unusual circumstances.

The incident began when Sheila Becenti, a resident of 1801 Cordova Ct Apartment 110, contacted the Cibola Regional Communications Center at approximately 1:03 a.m., reporting her ex-husband, Casey Becenti, was intoxicated and unlawfully present in her apartment. Despite initially requesting police assistance, S. Becenti called back minutes later to cancel the request after C. Becenti had left the premises.

However, the situation escalated when, at 1:43 a.m., Ms. Becenti reported her exhusband's return to the apartment under unclear circumstances, only to again retract her request for police intervention a few minutes later. Given the series of emergency calls, officers proceeded to the location, uncovering that S. Becenti was also wanted on an active arrest warrant issued by the Grants Municipal Court.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers encountered C. Becenti on the sidewalk near the apartment complex. In their report of the incident, officer wrote that C. Becenti was showing signs of significant intoxication, including unsteady movement, a strong odor of alcohol, bloodshot eyes, and slurred speech. C. Becenti, who had previously been barred from all properties managed by Monarch Properties Inc., including the location of the incident, was taken into custody without resistance.

While C. Becenti was being detained, another police unit engaged Sheila Becenti inside her apartment. The encounter led to Ms. Becenti's arrest due to the outstanding warrant. Both individuals were subsequently transported to separate facilities for incarceration following medical evaluation.

The apartment complex, located at 1801 Cordova Court, is part of a residential area managed by Monarch Properties Inc., known for its strict policies against trespassing and unauthorized presence on its properties.
