Fire at 712 Peek Street

GRANTS, N.M. – On September 9, Grants Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire at 712 Peek Street in Grants. The garage was fully ablaze when firefighters arrived on site. It took approximately 30 minutes for firefighters to extinguish the flames. Fire crews were able to contained flames to the garage which were not able to engulf the rest of the house. The homeowners and firefighters on scene suffered no injuries. The home, however, suffered some smoke and water damage. This fire is currently under investigation by the Grants Fire Department arson team and the State Fire Marshal's office.
