Fire Update

Cibola County firefighters had their hands full over the week of Independence Day. Firefighting teams handled: Nine Brush fires, two of which were on the interstate.

19 Fires, including wildland, trash, and other.

Two structure fires, one as a result of fireworks discharged inside the structure; the other was a result of the spontaneous combustion of oily rags.

Out of the 33 fire related calls, 30 were legitimate as fire department intervention was required.
