Santa Fe, N.M. – The New Mexico Association of REALTORS, the leading voice and advocate for REALTORS and the real estate industry in New Mexico, announces Zach Benjamin as its new chief executive officer. Benjamin joined the association in June from Jewish Long Beach and the Alpert Jewish Community Center, a nonprofit organization based in Long Beach, Calif., where he was CEO.
Benjamin previously served as the executive director at the Jewish Federation of New Mexico, a statewide multi-faceted social service and advocacy organization that addresses the needs of New Mexico’s Jewish community, between 2015 and 2019. Prior to joining the Jewish Federation, he oversaw the international partnerships, business development programs, and global governance structures for the National Association of REALTORS.
“It’s a joy to return to New Mexico, and a tremendous honor to return to the REALTOR ecosystem in this capacity,” said Benjamin. “I look forward working with our leadership and our members to elevate the real estate profession in our state.”
Benjamin attended Northwestern University in Chicago where he received a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in media and politics and Chinese language and culture. Additionally, he holds a Masters of Arts degree from Columbia University in New York, with a focus on regional studies encompassing East Asia and Chinese foreign policy. Throughout his career, Benjamin has been actively engaged with various organizations and boards in the advocacy, cultural competence, and higher education sectors.
Having spent more than two decades in association and nonprofit management, both domestic and overseas, Benjamin is committed to building bold and innovative advocacy, technology, education, and business development resources for New Mexico’s real estate industry. In his new role as chief executive officer, Benjamin will work closely with the association’s board of directors, assuming a crucial leadership role that encompasses various key responsibilities by overseeing staff and operations, strategizing for growth and development, managing administrative functions, ensuring sound financial management, and addressing legislative matters.
