The New Mexico Cattle Growers’ Association (NMCGA) will host its 2024 Northwest Regional meeting on April 3 in Gallup, New Mexico at the Red Rock Room, 3900 E Hwy 66, Gallup, NM 87301.

“We have a great lineup of speakers and topics,” said Dave Kenneke, NMCGA Northwest Regional Vice President. The morning will start off with a Beef Quality Assurance presentation by Dr. John Wenzel, New Mexico State University Extension Veterinarian (and recent recipient of the Beef Quality Assurance National Educator of the Year Award). The afternoon session will have Jim Paxon, Chair of the County Livestock Loss Authority, and Tom Paterson, NMCGA President-Elect and Wildlife Committee Chair, discussing wildlife issues including Mexican wolves, gray wolves and elk management. Fred Black from the New Mexico Rural Water Association will present on Water Wells 101. Kenneke stated, 'The NMCGA leadership team will close the day with current industry issues, the 2024 Legislative Session and a look ahead to the 2025 Legislature.”

Registration will open at 8:30 am. The program starts at 9:00 am. The New Mexico Beef Council and American Ag Credit are sponsoring our lunch beginning at 12:00 noon. New Mexico legislators from northwest New Mexico have been invited to attend and offer remarks during the lunch hour.
