The Grants/Cibola County Chamber of Commerce has unveiled a set of rules and regulations for the annual Fourth of July parade. With a focus on safety, community spirit, these measures are aimed at creating a memorable and incident-free celebration for all participants and spectators.

According to the Chamber of Commerce, failure to comply with the established guidelines may result in the removal of an entry from the parade, without refund. The Parade Officials, Parade Committee, and the City of Grants Police have been granted the authority to enforce these regulations in the interest of public safety.

Among the key provisions, Parade organizers have stressed the importance of maintaining a cohesive and festive atmosphere throughout the procession.

“While we understand the desire to distribute candy and other items during the parade, we strongly recommend against it,” advised the Chamber of Commerce. Participants who choose to do so will be held liable for any accidents or injuries that may occur.

To ensure a smooth and organized event, only registered entries will be permitted to participate in the parade. The Chamber of Commerce has explicitly stated that unregistered groups will be turned away if they arrive without prior registration approval.

The safety of participants and spectators is the Chamber’s priority. Parade officials will be looking for any unsafe behavior and intervene as necessary. The driver of each float must possess a valid driver's license, maintain a 180-degree field of vision, and refrain from smoking on or near the float at any time.

Water or other spraying devices are prohibited along the parade route, emphasizing the need to maintain a clean and safe environment for all attendees. Similarly, jumping on and off moving vehicles is strictly forbidden, as it poses a significant risk to the participants and those around them.

To foster a familyfriendly environment, the consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages or illegal substances during the parade is strictly forbidden. Authorities will be present to enforce this regulation and ensure the event remains enjoyable for all ages.

To maintain the pace and continuity of the parade, participants are urged to keep moving along the designated parade route. Walkers must remain in motion, while vehicles are prohibited from waiting on foot participants.

The Grants/Cibola County Chamber of Commerce has announced that the lineup and entry number pick-up will begin at 7:30 a.m. The parade is scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. on the Fourth of July. Further details regarding the exact parade route will be announced closer to the date, ensuring that participants and spectators can plan their attendance accordingly.
