Dear Editor Amen to the May 6 letter from Ed. U. Cator!
And a special thank you to Kathy Helms and the Citizen for the ongoing coverage about the uranium mining legacy and the decades of unsuccessful attempts to remediate the hundreds of mining sites.

Voter Data
Dear editor, U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a lawsuit against Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver for refusing to turn over New Mexico’s full, unredacted statewide voter registration list and related records December 2nd, 2025.
I ran for office a couple of years ago and was given a list of Democrat and Republicans voters in my District I saw no social security numbers, dates of birth or driver's license numbers on these lists. The State Republican Party gave me a phone app that allowed me to call each Republican voter in Cibola County. It showed their age, and if they were male or female. Many were well over 60 years of age, several more were 80 and up and some 90. There are supposed to be 3600 registered Republicans in Cibola County. Many of the phone numbers where disconnected, or a much younger person answered the phone. When I told them my name and I was running for office they promptly hung up. Many may have passed away, or other family members may be answering the phone of the older registered voter for whatever reason.
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) contacted New Mexico’s election officials about voter data, there is no public evidence that the Republican Party of New Mexico sent in any voter rolls to the DOJ. The Democratic Party of New Mexico did not send in its own voter rolls to the DOJ instead, the state’s election officials, led by Democratic Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliveris term-limited and running for lieutenant governor denied the request. Please go and vote and take your elderly family as well.
Dad’s 89 does not drive anymore I make sure he gets a ride and votes. Signed, Mr. Harry L. Hall USAF Veteran SP LE Re-
