Carlene Jean Horton
Carlene Jean Horton, age 62, of Navajo Dam, NM passed away peacefully on 06/05/2026 at W Yellowstone, Montana Carlene was born on 04/17/1964 in Crownpoint, NM to Albert and Nellie Cleveland. Lenie attended Baca Elementary and Crownpoint Boarding School. Lenie worked for Good Samaritan in the early 90's, 4 B's, and Walmart Associate. The late stages of her life she was a homemaker.
Lenie was known for her creativity in crocheting, making beautiful creations of her work. Lenie adored and cherished her grandchildren and praised every momentous event. Lenie always did her best to be at every event and brought her best creations.
Lenie is survived by Husband Wendell Dale Horton Daughter Carla (George Jr) Garcia; sister: Carolyn Cleveland; grandchild: Kristina V. Garcia, Desmond Smith. Kayla b. Garcia, Isaiah (Isa Smith), Elijah A. Garcia & Ezekiel A. Garcia; great-grandchildren: Alycia K. Garcia & Aniah Rose Smith; and many nieces. She will be deeply missed by all who know her.
Lenie is proceeded in death by her mother: Nellie Cleveland; Father: Albert Cleveland; Son: Terence Smith; and Brothers: Ray Cleveland & Ronnie Cleveland.
Lenie will be remembered for loud laugh and unwavering love and her compassion for helping the less fortunate. She leaves behind a legacy of love, hope and compassion to give.
Lenie's warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, leaving an impression on everyone she met. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved and her presence would be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
