Flock Camera Removal Scheduled for Week of Sept. 14

GRANTS, N.M. – Flock Safety camera equipment in Grants is scheduled to be removed during the week of Sept. 14, according to Grants Police Chief Maxine Monte.

Monte confirmed the timeline in a text message to the Cibola Citizen on Sept. 8.

“Flock has the removal scheduled for the week of September 14, 2026,” Monte wrote.

The update follows the City of Grants’ decision to discontinue its existing service agreement with Flock Safety for camera services. The City previously said the benefits provided by the cameras did not sufficiently align with the investment required or with the City’s overall mission and approach to public safety and security.

The Grants Police Department said the decision will allow the City to assess its current and future public safety needs and explore technology solutions that can provide effective security and investigative capabilities for the community.
