Two Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph (Maple Mount, Ky.) who served in Grants are among eight Sisters celebrating major anniversaries of religious life in 2024.
Sister Joyce Marie Cecil, a native of New Hope, Ky., is celebrating 60 years as an Ursuline Sister. Her former religious name was Sister Lisa Marie. She taught at St. Teresa School (1991-94), and served as pastoral minister at St. Teresa Parish (1994-95). She also served in Santa Fe, and in Kentucky and Missouri. She is retired at the Motherhouse and active in the Powerhouse of Prayer.
Sister Joan Riedley, a native of Louisville, Ky., is celebrating 60 years as an Ursuline Sister. Sister Joan taught at St. Teresa School (1968-76) and at St. Joseph School, San Fidel (1976-77). She has also served in Missouri and Kentucky. Since 2009, she has served as a parish minister at Mary Queen of Peace Parish, Louisville.
