A Facebook post on Thursday, May 8, alleged that Grants Code Enforcer and Cibola County Commissioner Robert Windhorst threw oil in a local business’s dumpster.
The post was accompanied with the attached photos and read, “When Grants Code Enforcer Robert Scott Windhorst throws oil in the trash can at a local business. Which you’re not supposed to throw in the trash can per waste management. And you can see him clearly on camera doing so in a city vehicle. And he refuses to clean it up but yet he brags about cleaning up the city.” (sic.)
The Cibola Citizen reached out to Robert Windhorst on May 13 for comment, but he refused an interview after initially asking to speak at the newspaper office.
On May 14, just before 11 a.m., Windhorst submitted a letter to the editor which is on this week’s A4. The Citizen again asked Windhorst for comment. The newspaper did not hear back before press time.
