Billy Edward McElroy

Billy Edward McElroy went to be with the Lord at age 91 on September 15, 2021, in Grants, New Mexico. Services for Billy will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021, at Compassion Mortuary, with viewing from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and services starting at 11 a.m. Services will be followed by burial at Grants Cemetery and then reception at Calvary Christian Fellowship, 117 North First Street.

Billy was born on January 7, 1930, in Bomarton, Texas. Billy lived a long life and enjoyed working hard all the way up to his retirement in 2020 at 90 years old.

Billy is survived by his sister: Clonita Hamilton; six nieces and nephews; children: Tim McElroy and Taryn Smith; grandchildren: Shawna, April, Aleia, Adam, Shyra, Rachael, Valerie, Veronica, and Sam; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

Billy was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Nellie McElroy; grandparents: Mance (pop) and Matty (granny) McElroy; parents: Ted and Mary McElroy; brother: Donald (Buddy) McElroy; son: Ricky McElroy; and granddaughter: Robyn.
