Jesse Daniel James, age 32 entered into rest on August 4, 2023 as the clock was chiming 11:00 pm, at home surrounded by his family.

Jesse was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 9 and he was a very responsible young man to manage this for almost 24 years with the aid of his continuous glucose monitor and insulin pump which he operated with precision. He was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer in November 2020 and fought a courageous battle for over 2 years and 8.5 months. He is an example of “fight to the finish and never give up”. He was born in Grants, NM May 28, 1991, and attended Milan Elementary, St. Teresa, Los Alamitos Middle and Grants High School. He began college at NMSU – Grants and then on to St. Johns College in Santa Fe, NM. He then transferred to St. Johns College in Annapolis, MD. Jesse served briefly on the Milan Volunteer Fire Department. Jesse’s love for NYC took him to NY where he embarked on a successful career with Christie’s International Real Estate and finally Compass as a licensed real estate salesperson in both NY and NJ. Jesse enjoyed spending time with family and friends, Mickey Mouse, reading, travelling, going to the movies, clothes, cologne, sunglasses, watches and the finer things in life.

Jesse leaves behind his parents, Jimmy and JoAn James of Milan NM. Brother: Jeremy James, Shania Medina and niece, Payton James that he affectionately called “Munchkin” of Milan, NM.

Uncle Jay James and family of Clovis, NM, Aunt Kristie Hiles and family of Bluewater, NM, Aunt Rebecca Romine and family of Hatfield, AR, Aunt Reba Stowe and family of Buckley, WA Aunt Mary James of Milan, NM, His partner and forever friend, Jordan Wilson of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and his family of Australia. And Matilda, his French Bulldog, companion and fur-child. A multitude of friends and other acquaintances that will miss his kindness and sharp appearance in his finest clothes wherever he went.

Waiting in Heaven to welcome Jesse home were his infant sister, Stephanie Dawn James, Maternal grandparents, Leroy and Leta Wilson. His paternal grandparents, Jimmy C and Carrah James. Uncles Alan Wilson and Ellis James and Aunt Reberta James.

The family wishes to thank his medical team, Ellen Early, MD, Oncologist; Anjali Dasai, MD, Palliative Care; Kathy Pearl, NP; Mary Mason, Nurse Coordinator at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ and Phillip Sandoval, MD, UNM Health System, Albuquerque, NM and Compassus Hospice for the professional and loving care during Jesse’s courageous battle.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday August 19, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Hilton Garden Inn Albuquerque Uptown. 6510 Americas Parkway NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87110. Inurnment with occur at Grants Memorial Park at a later date.
