AN Koleton Irvin Jay Carpenter

AN Koleton Irvin Jay Carpenter, USN , 21 years old, was taken from this earth too soon on October 22, 2023. Koleton was born to Kelly Kline Phelps on January 21, 2002 in Houston, Texas.

He is survived by his mother, Kelly Kline Phelps (North Baltimore, OH); his father, Daniel Phelps and Nana Martha Abeyta (both of Grants, New Mexico); sisters: Izabella Phelps (North Baltimore, OH) and Kalissa Carpenter (Perrysburg, OH); as well as brothers: Tyler and Justin Carpenter, and Ben Parker (all of Texas). He has many aunts, uncles and cousins in Ohio, New Mexico and Kentucky.

He attended Penta Career Center for Welding and graduated from North Baltimore High School in 2020. Koleton joined the Navy in service of our country on March 17, 2021. Koleton was an Airman on board the USS Nimitz, stationed in Bremerton, WA. Koleton loved his new Jeep and motorcycle, gaming on his computer and having adventures with his friends. During his last deployment he became a Shellback and visited Thailand, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Hawaii. He made many good friends in the Navy. Koleton was a good man with a big heart and would do anything for anyone in need. He was very close to his grandparents, Irvin and Mary Jo Kline who loved him dearly. He will be laid to rest at their gravesite in McComb Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, November 2, 2023, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore and 1 hour (10-11 a.m.) prior to the funeral.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2023, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore. Pastor Hugh Bowland officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 4, 2023, in McComb Union Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted.
