Raymond Leroy Mirabal peacefully passed away on March 9, 2022, of natural causes at the age of 75. He was born to the late Vidal and Clorinda (McBride) Mirabal in Grants, NM on May 4, 1946. Raymond was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He is survived by his sons Marcus Mirabal & wife Kathleen, Matthew Mirabal & wife Courtney; his daughters Shawnie Marquez & husband Glen, Melissa Powell & husband John, Mariah Taddeo & husband Anthony; eleven grandchildren Robert, Randy, Kendra, Mikaela, Miquela, Noah, Triston, Ethan, Kamren, Arianna, and Connor; his brother Andy & wife Charlene and sister Dianne & husband Steve. He is preceded in death by his bothers Fred, Dennis, and Gary. Throughout his youth, Raymond worked at the family hotel and trading

Throughout his youth, Raymond worked at the family hotel and trading post and trained horses on the ranch. He graduated from Grants High school in 1964 and went on to obtain his associate degree from the University of New Mexico. A proud US Army veteran, Raymond was drafted in 1966 and fought in the Vietnam War. He was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Marksman Rifle Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and two Bronze Service Stars. He was honorably discharged in July 1968. He worked as a Vice President at regional banks throughout the West until the mid-80’s when he moved to Las Vegas. He met Dorrene and, with her support, established his own business – RM Enterprises in Southern Nevada. He built several homes, garages, and other projects until his retirement. He spent the remainder of his life building his home in Pahrump, NV where he maintained his enthusiasm for cars, coins, and a slower pace.

Raymond lived life on his own terms, always ready to take on any challenge that came his way. He had strong convictions and sharp wit. He was a master of his craft, practical joker, and always had a story of the ‘old days’. While Raymond will be incredibly missed, those left behind can find comfort knowing his silver wings brought him home to be with his soulmate, Dorrene. They are enjoying weak coffee, cinnamon rolls, reality TV and a 1957 Chevy together – forever.

A memorial will be held April 18, 2022, at 9am at Davis Funeral Home (6200 S. Eastern, Las Vegas, NV). He will be laid to rest at 12pm at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery (1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV). In lieu of flower the family ask that donations be made, in the honor of Raymond, to a Military Veterans non-profit organization.
