Sandy (Billy Gene) Clark, 72, of Milan, New Mexico, passed away on January 29, 2024, at Cibola General Hospital in Grants. Sandy was born on May 21, 1951, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to Jolly Mae and Marion Henderson Clark. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and his brother, Marion Joe Clark.

Being soft-spoken, Sandy was known for his gentleness and poetic outlook on life. He had a passion for music and played various instruments including the concert six-string, 12-string, and bass guitar, as well as the mandolin and a limited 5-string banjo. After moving to Nashville Tennessee where he called home for 20 years, Sandy played acoustic guitar for Dottie West, and from 1976 to 1979 toured the country with singer Kenny Rogers.

In addition to his career as a Guitarist, Sandy enjoyed writing songs and singing. His talent brought joy to many and will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of hearing him perform.

Survived by his older brother: Carrol Cash Clark; as well as one daughter, three grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. His legacy will live on through his family and the unforgettable memories he left behind.

A memorial service will be held at The First Presbyterian Church in Santa Fe, New Mexico, February 23, 2023 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Spondylitis Association of America.
