Sharon Margaret Jaramillo, 66 a resident of Grants, NM sadly left us on February 22, 2024, after her battle with cancer.

Sharon was born in Las Vegas, NM, then moved to Albuquerque where she met her husband. She was a Spanish teacher, commercial custodian, dry cleaner, and worked fast food. She was a Dietitian for Presbyterian. She was a great cook and took part in working at Josie’s Hamburger’s with her mother-in-law Josie. Sharon was a special needs foster parent. Sharon had strong family values. She was very strong in her faith and there for a person to lean on. She had a personality that people instantly connected to. Sharon enjoyed the outdoors. She worked on her old vehicles and often helped her husband with the cattle in Cubero.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 48 years: Joe H. Jaramillo; her children: Jeremy, Joe (Pudgy), Jennifer, Jonita; and granddaughter: Lyric; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her Tia: Elvira Benavidez; sister: Jessie Farris; brother: Chris (Christy) Martinez; her cousins whom she was raised with: Esperidion (Christa) Benavidez, Tomas (Clara) Benavidez, Antonia (Larry) Benavidez, Ramon (Linda) Benavidez, Sister-in-law Sophie Barraza, Sister-in-law- Annamarie (Martin) Jaramillo, Brother in-law Lawrence (Brenda) Jaramillo, and Sister-in-law ClaraAnn Tena. Many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She is preceeded in death by her parents: Elias and Rita Martinez; her Grandmother: Rosa Benavidez; and In-laws: Lorenzo and Josie Jaramillo; Aunt: Lorene Reano.

Pallbearers are Martin Rodriguez, Gustav Barraza, Demitri Barraza, Jerome Reano, Joseph Gauna, Johnny Candelaria, and Honorary Pallbearer Eli Miera.

Sharon will be deeply missed by many. Services will be held as follows: Thursday, February 29, 2024. Viewing at 6 p.m. Rosary 6:30 p.m. at Mt. Taylor Mortuary 120 3rd St Grants NM. Friday, March 1, 2024, Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Light at 17 Water Canyon Rd. Cubero NM. Burial to follow at Cubero Cemetery, Reception at Our Lady of Light Church Hall.
