Susie Harris

Susie Harris, age 84, of San Jose, CA, passed away on September 4, 2022. She was born on January 24, 1938, in San Rafael, New Mexico, to the late Rita and Perfilio Castillo.

Susie was a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving children: Lisa Cantu, Robert Harris, Irene Harris, Eloy Harris and daughter in law Griselda Harris; Her grandchildren: Rita Cantu, Martin Cantu Jr., Eloy P. Harris, Nicolas Harris, Ayana Harris, Robert Harris, and Luname Harris, brought immense joy to her life. Additionally, she is mourned by her great-grandchild: little Maya. Susie leaves behind her dearly loved brother: Carlos; brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, and a multitude of cherished nieces and nephews.

Susie was preceded in death by her dear parents: Rita and Perfilio Castillo; as well as her siblings: Ernest Bobby, Paul, David, Angie, Ramirez, Jenny, Barajas; son-in-law: Martin; and her husband.

In addition to her love for her family, Susie found joy in her hobbies. She spent many hours playing cards, with rummy being her preferred game. She cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

To honor and remember Susie's well-lived life, a traditional church service will be held on September 1 at 10 am at Saint Teresa's Church. Following the service, a burial ceremony will take place at 11:30 am at Grants Cemetery. Those who were privileged to know and love Susie, as family or friends, are invited to join a Repast at Grants Recreation Center, where they can share their favorite memories and stories of her vibrant spirit.

Susie Harris will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will continue to inspire and illuminate the lives of those she loved and touched throughout her life. May her soul find eternal peace and may her memory forever be a blessing to us all.
