Theresa Gallegos, 76, of Elko, Nevada, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024. Theresa was born on November 18, 1947, in Trinidad, Colorado and spent her formative years in Albuquerque, moving to Grants, New Mexico to raise a family in the 1970's. Theresa was beloved by not only her family and friends, but also the community of Grants, where she lived and worked for several decades.

Theresa was a devoted wife and mother, raising her three children in Grants, New Mexico. She instilled in her children the values of hard work, compassion, and resilience. Her home was a place of love and laughter, where friends and family were greeted by the comforting aroma of homemade meals and baked goods, and, if you were lucky, her infectious laugh.

In addition to her role as a loving mother, Theresa worked at the Grants Dairy Queen, Good Samaritan Senior Living Center, Cibola General Hospital and managed the New West Apartments until she retired in 2016.

Her life’s pride and joy, however, were her eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Grandma Theresa, affectionately known as “Gramcracker”, was a constant, nurturing presence of love and acceptance to all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She never let them leave or end a call without telling them that she “loved them to the moon and back!”

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Efren Trujillo and Frances Garcia Trujillo, brother, Daniel Trujillo, and sister Joann Herrera.

Theresa is survived by her loving children, Francine Gallegos, Tammie Gallegos and Tiger Gallegos, her siblings, Patricia (Eddie) Roberts, Frank Trujillo, Rosemarie (Genero) Apodaca, and Esther (Esequiel) Vasquez, grandchildren Ashley (Gabe) Armijo, Dennis Garcia, Jr., Christopher (Dawn) Garcia, Terrence (Charity) Gallegos, Justin (Desirae) Gallegos, Andrea (Dennis) Lowe, Tyler (Madison) Gallegos, and Jovanna Garcia, great-grandchildren Santana, Carlos and Lucianna Armijo, Jonathan, Jacob and Josiah Garcia, Ayden and Jasmine Garcia, Mateo Gallegos, Justin Gallegos, Jr., Diem and Darian Sanchez, Isabella Kunzier, DiAngelo Chavez, Dennis Gregory Lowe, Jr, Preston and Jackson Lowe and Marigold Gallegos.

A memorial service to celebrate Theresa's life will be held at a later time.

Her sister Rose Marie would like everyone to know that, She was a loving kind sister! She will be missed!

May Theresa's spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be embraced by her love and she will be forever loved and missed.
