Grateful for community

Dear editor,

Over many years Continental Divide Electrical Co-Op has provided affordable power to our communities. Continental Divide has also given back to the City of Grants in many generous ways. They have looked upon Grants as a partner and have always treated us as such. Most recently, Continental Divide saw a need at our Grants City Cemetery. They noticed that the trees had become overgrown and needed to be trimmed back. CDEC not only provided their tree trimming contractors, Aaron’s Tree Service out of Bluewater, but they also lent their bucket truck to the City of Grants to hang all their Christmas lights and ornaments!

Continental Divide could have just trimmed a few trees in the Cemetery. However, they took several weeks and at great expense did the whole Cemetery! Paul Spencer of Aarons Tree Service also donated the use of his chippers to chop up all the branches.

On behalf of the City of Grants, I would like to thank Ruben Sandoval and the rest of the Cemetery Board and our City Employees for being dedicated public servants and keeping our Cemetery looking beautiful! Thank you to the CEO of Continental Divide, Robert Castillo for his vision of making Grants the cleanest City in New Mexico! This was an expensive endeavor and the City of Grants is very grateful. Thank you, Aaron’s Tree Trimming Service, for doing a great job!

As I drove around the Cemetery the other day, I saw a brandnew memorial bench and lantern that was just beautiful! The Grants Cemetery is a resting place for generations of our residents. Their families take great comfort in seeing the Cemetery look beautiful and clean.

We have so much to be grateful for this season! We worship the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and the great joy and peace he continues to bring. As we reach out to others in need this season and bless our neighbors, we continue to spread His positive influence throughout the world.
