Letters to the Editor . . .

Dear editor, My concern is that we in Grants have been dubbed in the past as The Uranium Capital, as a Nurse caring for these now elderly uranium miners who have so many lung disease diagnosis and are required to see a Department of Labor approved Physician. This seems to be a problem as of at this time and others. In the past, Grants has had no Physician to see these Miners, I have heard many excuses, they don't pay well, they are slow with the pay etc. Nothing about the Miners having to travel with, supplemental oxygen to Albuquerque, Belen, even as far as EspaƱol.

I'm just not getting this, they served America in the background of America needing the Uranium for Ammo, yet here we are with no one to Provide for their required DOL recertification. Can someone please explain this to them? Sincerely upset, Sarah Morlang RN, CM
