Nancy Pelosi made the ballsiest move any person in the 21st Century has made to date. In the face of threats from the Chinese Communist Party, Speaker of the House of Representatives Pelosi spat in the face of communism and authoritarian rule.

Say what you will about Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s politics, one thing is certain: Her devotion to the United States and her Patriotism can never be questioned again.

The world watched eagerly as the clock ticked closer and closer to Pelosi’s trip to the island nation of Taiwan. When news broke of Pelosi’s potential visit to the island, it was met with fighting words from the Chinese Communist Party who threatened military action against Pelosi’s plane and the island nation of Taiwan.

In a moment which showed the world that the United States is not a nation in decline, and that China is nothing more than a puffed-up pretender to power, Nancy Pelosi did not waver and she landed in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan in the morning of August 2.

But why did Nancy Pelosi go to Taiwan, and did it really make that big of a difference? Let’s discuss.

After World War II, China was a desolate land with serious leadership vacuums. The land has too much history to share here, but these fundamental issues created the perfect conditions for a civil war which would end with the Communists under Mao Zedong controlling most of the Chinese mainland. The communists could not, however take the island of Taiwan, where the Nationalist Government had retreated.

In the days since the civil war, Taiwan has be come a Democratic Nation, but it is not recognized by most western countries, including the United States – at least, officially.

When China learned that Pelosi was going to visit Taiwan, they threatened her and warned her to stay away. Well hear this, no country has the right to tell the United States where it can and cannot go. Nancy Pelosi is third in line for the presidency, her position in government is massively significant to the American people.

But does her visit to Taiwan really make that much of a difference? Yes. In 2021 the Jan. 6 Capitol Insurrection occurred which desecrated the global seat of Democracy. Trump supporters did not realize their actions at the time, or the reverberations that would have on the world. The United States was seen as the sick man of America by many of enemies, and an increasingly growing number of allies.

China was showing its claws, threatening the rules-based-international-order our grandparents and great-grandparents literally bled for. China was using subversion and their overflowing pockets to buy or coerce new allies in the Pacific Ocean, Africa, and Latin America.

On August 1, as Pelosi approached Taiwan, China mobilized its fighter jets, both of its aircraft carriers, and lined the shores with artillery and tanks. The national media even released a tweet that warned Chinese military jets were en route to Taiwan just as Pelosi’s plane began its descent – I know because I watched the whole thing unfold live with flight tracking apps and an abundance of foreign policy resources on Twitter.

And yet nothing materialized of this threat. It turns out that China is no fierce dragon, but is instead a paper dragon.

President Xi Jinping of China claims to have pulled the country out of its “Century of Humiliation” that began with the end of the first Opium War. Nancy Pelosi defying the militarized threat of China was a direct spit in the eye of Xi Jinping and was a great humiliation for the Chinese Communist Party.

The world will no longer look at the USA as a sick man, because Pelosi just proved that even in the threat of death, Americans will continue to fight for the God-given rights to Freedom, Liberty, and Justice.

Communism suffered a significant blow this week. Authoritarianism suffered a significant blow this week. The United States experienced a series of strategic victories and asserted its place on the world stage with Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan and Biden’s assassination of the Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri.

The United States is strong, and it will always stand up to defend Freedom, Democracy, and we will take down any threats to our national security. As Americans we take advantage of our liberties, often forgetting about them. August 1 was a dangerous day for the world, thank God things didn’t devolve into conflict, let’s reflect a little about our freedoms and liberties and pray for Speaker Pelosi’s safety.

No matter what happens next, this great humiliation suffered by China will go down in the history books, and at least for the moment our nation can celebrate for once against standing up to an authoritarian bully.
