GHS head coach Steve Brown was not able to make the game and assistant coach and former GHS head football coach Rio Thompson coached the game.

“I loved the effort and the fight from our team from the opening kickoff to the final gun, ' said GHS head coach Steve Brown of his team's effort against Moriarty. “They learned that if they continue to work hard everyday and believe in themselves and each other and learn to trust what the coaching staff is teaching,” Brown added, “Moriarty is a really good team and our kids played them down for down and it showed them that they can play with the good teams in our state and even more, that we can and will become one of them.”

Next up for the Pirates are the Hope Huskies (22) this Saturday, September 16th in an afternoon game at 1:00pm.

“Hope Christian will be another big test for us—they are big and fast and have really good skill players,” said Brown. “I am confident that we can match their speed and quickness and as is the case every week, the mistake game will decide who comes out on top.”
