ALBUQUERQUE, NM - New Mexico United emphatically bested Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC by a 2-0 margin on Saturday night, in front of a sell-out crowd of 14,519 - the largest crowd of the season. Nava continued to take the ball on the bounce, and tapped home from just a few feet away for his first career goal at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park. Nava’s goal was during United’s “Magic Minute” - a tradition that sees the entire stadium stand and yell from when the clock strikes 19:12 (the year of New Mexico’s admittance to the Union as a state), until 20:18 (when New Mexico United was founded. It was Bruce who added the final tally for the Black & Yellow - this one in the 43rd minute. A failed Switchbacks clearance found the foot of Will Seymore, who settled the ball and then whipped a low ball toward Bruce. The Englishman took a step left to wrong-foot his defender, and then sent a left-footed strike past the keeper for a 2-0 lead that United would not relinquish.

The win closes out the regular season for New Mexico, who now set their sights on a firstround showdown on the road at Sacramento Republic FC. That match is set for next Saturday, October 22, at 8 PM MT.
