ALBUQUERQUE, NM - New Mexico United is excited to unveil their 2022 USL Championship schedule, which features 34 regular season matches, 17 of which are scheduled to be played at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park. The 2022 season will feature a return to two-conference play across the USL Championship, with eight additional inter-conference matches played across the season. United will play each of 13 Western Conference opponents twice - once home and once away - throughout the season.

In addition, New Mexico United and Las Vegas Lights FC have made the decision to move the home opener one day later - from the previously announced March 12th to March 13th - in order to accommodate additional events happening in the area on the 12th.

“Our club is about celebrating all things New Mexican,” said New Mexico United Owner and President Peter Trevisani. “The NMAA State Basketball Championships create an incredible, exciting atmosphere that fills New Mexico with pride every year. It is the culmination of years of hard work for students from across our state and the communities that support them. We didn’t think asking New Mexicans to choose between supporting their local high school teams and cheering for the Black & Yellow was the right choice. Now, we hope that every New Mexican can experience both events, celebrating an exciting sports weekend in New Mexico.”

“We have been covering the NMAA Basketball Tournament for fourteen consecutive years, and I’m thrilled to hear about United’s decision to move their home opener to accommodate this important moment for hundreds of families,” said ESPN radio 101.7 The TEAM President Joe O’Neill. “It reinforces how United pays attention to the fabric of New Mexico and the things that really matter to New Mexicans. This will be a great week of New Mexico sports, culminating in United’s home opener on Sunday.”
