Three wrestlers from Grants High School participated in the New Mexico Activities Association state wrestling tournament over the weekend. Larry Meador (45-14) a junior wrestling in the 145-pound weight class placed fourth after losing to Ernesto Triste (37-13) of Deming High School by a 7-6 decision. Teammate Manuel Gonzales (40-15), also a junior, placed fourth in the 121pound weight class after a defeat by Adam Abdelijawaed (35-14) of Miyamura High School in the third-place match. Douglas Mitchel went 1-2 in preliminary matches and was unable to place in the top six spots. The Grants team was 20th overall out of 38 teams.
