The State DOT has asked us to announce that the State Police and other Law Enforcement agencies are being asked to enforce no riding on State owned and maintained roads in our community. This will not only be enforced during our event but, is the law and signs will be posted year-round. This is a law that many in our community have not been aware of in the past. This will include Santa Fe Avenue, First Street to the stop light on Roosevelt Avenue, and Lobo Canyon to the end of the pavement. It also includes the old Highway 66 through the Village of Milan, the road to San Rafael (State highway 53) and the Road to San Mateo (State highway 605). The recommendation is to trailer off road vehicles to areas we can ride.
Once notified about this, the Chamber of Commerce Board, and our committee of volunteers worked to come up with alternate routes to all our events. We will be blocking off High Street for event parking and we have designated trailer parking throughout our community. We will have information and maps at the Chamber Booth. You may pick up ordinances at both the County and the City of Grants. Please review all the laws regarding the use of off-road vehicles. Please note that the City and County Ordinances do not govern and are not a substitution for the State Statutes 66-331020 to 66-3-1020.
Please join us to welcome everyone joining us from out of town. We would like to thank all our Sponsors, the City of Grants, Cibola County, the Rodeo Association, the Toxicos and the many volunteers who have stepped up to help us out this year.
