Glamour Girl, on First Street, is one of the local businesses affected by the muddy waters. The water seeped into the store and created a lake on the floor. Fortunately, it didn’t reach most of the merchandise, but the owners had to close Glamour Girl while they cleaned.

Heidi McRoberts Named Forest Supervisor for Cibola National Forest and Grasslands

GRANTS, NM — The Cibola National Forest and National Grasslands has welcomed Heidi McRoberts as its new Forest Supervisor. McRoberts steps into the role following Steven Hattenbach's departure to serve as Deputy Regional Forester for the Southwestern Region.

Tales From the Flood

GRANTS, NM— Nearly everyone in the entire city of Grants, New Mexico was affected by the flood last week. Residents and businesses each suffered in some manner.

El Morro Volunteer Fire Department Hosting Fundraiser

Please help support the El Morro Volunteer Fire Department by participating in our yard sale fundraiser. All proceeds will benefit the department through the support team. The funds raised provide supplies, food, fluids, and snacks during and after emergencies and during training.

Fisher Fire in Cibola National Forest

The Fisher fire is currently 7,701 acres. Yesterday ground crews were able to finish the perimeter and connect the divisions at the southernmost end of the fire. Air crews were able to finish firing efforts and connect in with ground crews.
