CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. – Early February data shows Cibola County still waiting for a decisive winter shift.Bluewater Lake continued its gradual decline over the past week, the Rio San Jose held flat at low levels, and snowpack in the Zuni/Bluewater River Basin remained stalled well below average.

Did you know that the volcanic fields in northern New Mexico, including El Malpais' field, Zuni-Bandera, form a line across the state? This line is called the Jemez Lineament, and it marks an area of weakness in the Earth’s crust.Why is the crust weak here?
