SEBOYETA, N.M. – American Future Fuel Corporation is a Canadian- based company that is purchasing/leasing land in Cibola County in an effort to jumpstart uranium mining in the area. Seven nuclear power generators will be restarted by the coming summer, increasing demand for uranium.

GRANTS, N.M. – The Grants City Council held a special meeting on October 12 at the Cibola Senior Citizens Center. In this meeting, the council held a townhall to discuss public safety in the city, and the actions of Mayor Erik Garcia on September 27.

GRANTS, N.M. – School security is a matter of concern for the modern world. According to Superintendent Max Perez, security guards, supervision, training, equipment, facilities, and coordination with local law enforcement are the big picture of a student's safety.

Zuni to Clean Scrap Tires

ZUNI PUEBLO – The Pueblo of Zuni will receive a $15,000 grant for the collection and removal of scrap tires across the pueblo. The funding comes thanks to the Recycling and Illegal Dumping grant – known as RAID – from the New Mexico Environment Department.
