NTU is Approved by HLC to offer Three New Programs

CROWNPOINT, NM - On May 24, 2022, Navajo Technical University (NTU) continues to educate it’s Navajo Nation community and beyond. Recently, the Institutional Actions Council (IAC) of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) approved NTU’s request to offer three new programs.

Grants Fire and Rescue, Milan Fire Department, and the Cibola Roads Department worked to get sandbags ready for residents across the county. GFR thanked residents who participated, and those who helped support their efforts, like 1912 Market on Santa Fe Avenue who took water and other snacks to the crews.

Drought Unaffected by Recent Rain

Despite a torrent of recent rain, Cibola County is currently experiencing its seventh worst drought in recorded history. 43 percent of Cibola County is suffering an “Exceptional Drought,” the highest level of drought recognized by the United States federal government.

Fire in San Rafael

SAN RAFAEL, N.M. – Cibola County Sheriff’s Office arrested Alex Roberts, San Rafael, New Mexico resident, after he allegedly burned his house down. After speaking with Roberts, CCSO discovered that he had a warrant for his arrest and took him into custody.
